



Introduction
‘Mugache laddu’ is a traditional Goan tribal dish made of Green gram flour, coconut, and jaggery. This dish is made annually with no seasonal periods as such. However,these laddus arealso made in the festive seasons like Diwali and Ganesh Chaturthi. This tasty and simple dish is also consumed during the tea time. This dish also has many nutritional values because of green gram which are rich in fibre and protein.These laddus are made especially for children because they help in the overallgrowth of a child.

- 1 bowl/ ¼ kg Green gram (Mugh)
- 1 bowlgrated coconut
- 1 bow/ ¼ kg grated Jaggery

First take a vessel and roast the ¼ kg green gram on mud chulha on a low flame

After roasting green gram for 5 min,keepaside to cool down for 2-3 min and later grind on a traditional stone called as ‘dantey’. It takes 30-40 min to grind roasted green gram on ‘dantey’

Scrape the coconut and jaggery on a Goan traditionally used kitchen tool, locally called ‘Aadoli’

Later add the grated coconut and jaggery with green gram flour and mix it well

After mixing all these ingredients make small round-shaped balls called laddu’s or ‘ladu’ in Konkani local language
